Overview
The PE curriculum at Ark Soane will equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to develop proficiency in several activities and lead a healthy lifestyle, supporting them in becoming lifelong participants in physical activity. Students will be given numerous opportunities to participate in a range of sporting and fitness-based activities both in lessons and outside school, where students are strongly encouraged to play a role in representing the school at some level.
Students will cycle between a range of activities across each school year and will revisit our core activities throughout KS3 to ensure that they are developing increasing competency in each area. They will be challenged in a variety of individual and team environments to support their physical competency and motivation within physical activity, and to support students in discovering and developing new sporting interests. There will be ample opportunity to excel in a variety of fields, including team and individual based games, aesthetic activities, athletics, and fitness-based units.
The department also offer a strong extra-curricular provision. We run a range of clubs throughout the day and compete in different competitions within the Ealing borough and Ark Sport Championships.
