Dear Parents and Carers
Thank you for all your support through the Christmas Exams. Pupils worked exceptionally hard throughout and we are looking forward to sharing results with you and them at the end of this term.
Peer Review: On Thursday this week we hosted our annual "Peer Review" where headteachers from across Ark come to inspect the school and provide feedback to the leadership team. The Review Team found:
- Exceptional warmth through all interactions leading to a strong sense of belonging
- Incredible quality and consistency of teaching across all subjects and year groups
- No time is wasted with exceptional well-executed routines and pupils all being fully equipped for lessons
- A strong culture of positivity underpinned by a well used behaviour system
- Exceptionally confident pupils who are encouraged to participate in class, at family dining and through their wide-ranging enrichment activities
- Pupils who all articulated their pride in belonging to a high-performing school and recognise the quality and commitment of their teachers
- Staff who are totally committed to the mission of the school and who work incredibly hard to achieve great outcomes for pupils
Thank you for all your support to enable the school to achieve such glowing feedback.
Attendance: Research shows that good attendance - between 97% and 100% is vital to ensuring children achieve well at school. With exams completed, students will continue learning important new content through to the end of term. Absences should only be in the rare circumstance that your child is too unwell to leave the house. A reminder that Spring term begins on Tuesday 6th January.
Inset and End of Term Arrangements: A reminder that school will be closed for INSET on Monday 8th December. School will continue as normal through to Wednesday 17th December before Exploration Day (details below) on Thursday 18th and an early finish (12.45-1pm) on Friday 19th Dec.
Enjoy the remainder of the weekend,
Mr Neuberger
This Week's Highlights
More news from the football field this week!
Our Year 7 girls team put in a great performances on Wednesday against two Drayton Manor teams. They drew the first game 2-2 and were unfortunate to lose the second game 3-2 after racing into a 2 goal lead! Highlights included Madina scoring all 4 goals, Nora making some fantastic saves in goal and Hanin causing chaos in the opposition area with some bullet long throws.
The Year 7 boys also played well, although they suffered a gutting last minute defeat against Ada Lovelace it was another really promising performance. Man of the match was Hassan for some superb saves and shout outs to Amir and Luca for scoring our two goals in a 3-2 thriller.
