Dear Parents and Carers
On Tuesday our founding cohort received their first set of Y11 mock results. For most it was a great opportunity to celebrate: 43% of grades were 7 (the old A-grade) or higher - particularly impressive given that we are still six months away from exams. Congratulations are due to many but especially:
- Milos, Eabha, Maryam - 7 grade 9s
- Kirubel, Ayaan, Dilys, Olivia, Lily - 6 grade 9s
- Shahad, Ola, Yara, Yasser, Freddie, Lukas - 5 grade 9s
- Thelma, Nadira, Max, Linda, Lucas - 4 grade 9s
All of the Y11 pupils have come back from exams with a spring in their step - ready for a big push through to their final mocks (starting on February 5th) and their real exams (starting on 11th May).
Pupils in Years 7-10 are now half-way through their Christmas exams. The walls of every classroom are covered in extension work and pupils are coming out of these assessments feeling proud of the work they have put in and exceptionally well prepared. Exams for Y7-10 continue in to Monday and Tuesday of this week:
Monday: Y7-9 - French and science, Y10 - geography and English
Tuesday: Y7-9 - maths and music, Y10 - maths
I wish the pupils every success in their remaining exams.
End of term: Following exams we will revert to normal lessons as there are still three weeks of term left and homework will be due as normal from Wednesday all the way through to the end of term. Festive celebrations will kick off with our Exhibition Evening on 11th December and include pizza parties, Christmas Lunch and our Exploration Day in our final week of term. School will have a staggered finish on Friday 19th December with pupils dismissed between 12.45 and 1pm.
INSET: A reminder that next Monday, 8th December, is an INSET day and school will be closed to all pupils.
Coats: As the weather is getting colder please ensure that your child comes to school with a navy or black non-branded coat. Please note that branded outerwear is not permitted to prevent unwanted pressure to buy expensive branded items. Hoods must not be up unless it is raining to ensure that pupils are aware of their surroundings and are recognisable - please provide them with a navy or black hat instead for cold days.
Enjoy the remainder of the weekend,
Mr Neuberger
