Dear Parents and Carers
I hope you have had a restful half-term. We are really looking forward to welcoming all the pupils back on Tuesday.
Return from half-term: Please ensure that your child is well rested and early to bed to prepare for the half-term ahead. We are looking forward to seeing all pupils by 8.25 on Tuesday. As we go into a cold and wet period of the year please ensure that your child has a labelled black or navy overcoat as pupils will be outside at the start of day and during breaks in all but the most extreme weather.
Pupils will start back in Tuesday 4th November and term will run through to Friday 19th December (12.45 finish). There is an INSET day on Monday 8th December. Please ensure that your child is present through to the end of term as lessons will continue as normal through to the 19th December and your child's progress will be affected by absence and it is a legal requirement for children to attend during term time.
Fireworks displays: Please ensure your child's safety around fireworks and only attend licensed fireworks displays. Please remind your child that they should not handle fireworks and that they may only be purchased by adults.
Y11 mock exams: Y11 mocks will start on return on Tuesday. Please support and encourage them as they go into these exams:

Final Week's Highlights
As we got to the end of the first half-term of the 2025-2026 school year, the students of Ark Soane had plenty to be proud of! As the days got shorter and the weather got colder, their enthusiasm and determination did not let up one bit. With Year 11 revising hard for their mocks and every other year group following in their footsteps, we could not be more impressed with the dedication they showed to their learning.
There was lots of fun too in this last week! Notably, Year 8 made the voyage across London to see Disney's Hercules at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane. Along with form tutors and other staff, Year 8 had an amazing time and did the school proud with their maturity and kindness. Well done team!
And there was more news from the football field last week. It was a great start to the season for the Y9 boys football team who won 6-2 at Brentside on Monday. Shout out to goal scorers Yunis, Adam, Mohammed, Adam T, Platon & Alex! Year 10 weren't quite so lucky, they faced defeat at Gunnersbury but again lots of perseverance to the end through some tough conditions. Well done to all the players and best of luck for matches in the next half term!
