I hope you have had a fantastic half-term break.
We are looking forward to seeing all pupils return at the normal time on Monday for the final half-term of the year.
The start of this half-term is all about preparing for the End of Year exams which will take place from the middle to end of June - there are further details below including how you can support your child in preparing for their exams but please encourage them to revise extensively and bring in their revision to show their tutors and teachers. After the exams there are three weeks of normal school before we come together to celebrate the end of the year with a range of trips and activities.
Please remember that, if you are travelling abroad over the Summer Holiday, you may only travel during school holiday time and should not make bookings before 24th July: doing so prevents your child from joining community and prizegiving events at the end of the year and can result in fining or enforcement action.

23rd July - End of Term - Early Finish
This coming Friday has been confirmed as Eid al-Adha and we wish "Eid Mubarak" to those families who are celebrating. If you are intending for your child to be absent from school for religious observance then please inform us (absence@arksoane.org) well in advance so that we can plan accordingly.

This Week's Highlights
It was a fantastic last week of the half term. The students were still buzzing off the success of the Lion King production last week, and the year 7s and 8s got to enjoy one last sporting day in the sun as they competed in the Ark Athletics Tournament on Thursday. The students had a hugely successful day across the board, with the girls relay team winning gold in their race and Florence (8 Alexander) taking silver in the Javelin! It was a massively enjoyable day for all.

This week also marked the start of the countdown to exams, and the students rose to the challenge of revision with so much eagerness and enthusiasm. Across the school the pupils got straight to work handing in extension and contributing to their form's revision pile. It was great to see the students being so proactive in their learning!
End of Year exams
As we approach the end of the academic year, students are now beginning to prepare for their end of year exams. This is an important moment for students, as it gives them a chance to demonstrate the progress they have made across the year, and to practice good exam revision habits. Form tutors will be supporting your child with revising, helping them to complete a revision timetable. They will be expected to bring their revision work into school each day to show their tutor.
Years 7-9 will complete their exams between Monday 16th and Thursday 19th June.
Year 10 will complete their exams between Friday 21st and Friday 27th June.
You can support your child by checking that they have completed their revision timetable each night, and by reminding them of the importance of revision to their academic success. You can see what topics students will need to revise in each subject in the attached summer exam content list.
