Dear Parents and Carers
Thank you for your continued support as we go into the final two weeks of term.
It was a great pleasure to see almost all of the Y9 pupils and parents last Wednesday as they get ready for the next stage on their academic journey. Pupils are clearly ready to face up to the challenge of their GCSEs and the higher stakes that these exams will bring. Many of them are already immaculately well prepared with great study and revision habits. The two biggest things that parents can do to ensure their children are successful are:
- Engage with your children's school life by celebrating their merits, their homework and their reports and by supporting them to improve when these are not excellent
- Improve your child's relationship with technology by supporting them to give up their phone or, when this is too difficult, setting strict time limits on screen time. At a minimum, we must ensure that no child takes their phone to bed at night as this leads to sleep deprivation and a lack of focus. If you would like any further support with this - in Y9 or not - then please reach out to your child's tutor.
This week we are hugely looking forward to our school production on Wednesday and Thursday. Please do attend if you can - it promises to be a spectacular event. Further details are below.
Have a great week,
Mr Neuberger

This Week's Highlights
Our Y7-Y8 runners did a fantastic job of representing Soane in the London Mini Marathon on Saturday 26th April! Students were given the unique opportunity of running the last 2.6 KM of the actual marathon course, where they started at the famous Horse Guards Parade and finished at The Mall. We were blown away by the student efforts and appreciated the enthusiastic support from parents & teachers alike!

There was also so much high quality work produced in and out of class this week. Adya in 7 Cicero has been working incredibly hard to produce the most revision in the form and make Ms Kutyla proud. 8 Ramesses have also been impressing Ms Back by showing her something interesting they've been doing this week, and there was such a good turnout. Maxi displayed his martial arts medal, Lilly her scrapbooks, Amine her research into planes. Turning into such interesting people!

The West Area Met Police Proactive and Gangs team will be running a webinar on County Lines and exploitation on the 21st May. The event can be booked on the link below or by scanning the QR code on the attached poster. The session aims to raise awareness for parent and carers on grooming and exploitation, how to spot the signs and what support is available. The event is run by local officers so it will cover relevant issues that we are facing in Ealing.
