Dear Parents and Carers
I hope you enjoyed a restful break. We are fully recharged and are very much looking forward to pupils' return.
Please note that tomorrow is a school INSET day and school is closed to all pupils (aside from new joiners). We look forward to seeing all pupils from 8.10 on Wednesday morning.
We have a very short half-term ahead: with a Bank Holiday on Monday 5th May and the end of term on Friday 23rd May there are only 22 school days before May half-term. We will be inviting all Y9 parents to a GCSE information evening on Wednesday 7th May and all families will be invited to come to our school production of the Lion King on 14th and 15th May. More information will follow.
End of year exams will take place from 18th-26th June and we will launch revision with the pupils before half-term. There are lots of exciting events to look forward to at the end of term including a Fete, a concert, a sports day and multiple trips. Please ensure that your child attains 100% attendance this term. School will finish for the summer holidays on Wednesday 23rd July.
Please use the time before Wednesday to ensure that your child's school uniform is complete and clean - and that all items are in line with the school's uniform policy. Please also ensure that your child's homework is complete and that they are returning to the summer term with their bag and pencil case organised and a full set of equipment.
We look forward to seeing your child on Wednesday.
Kind regards,
Mr Neuberger
End of Term Highlights
It was a fantastic final week of term, with Exploration day taking place on Thursday. The students were spread from the Tate Modern to Stratford, St. Paul's to the Science Museum, Khalsa Jatha Gurdwara to the Natural History Museum, and even more. The students had the most joyous day getting to explore in the sun, and their behaviour across all the trips was exemplary. They did themselves and the school so proud.

Congratulations are in order for 7 Cleopatra, 8 Alexander, 9 Ramesses and 10 Augustus for winning Tutor Group of the Term! The students had a blast celebrating with pizza parties in their forms, so well deserved for all their hard work. Below is 10 Augustus celebrating on the MUGA.

Notices
Uniform
Please ensure your child returns in full uniform. In particular, please ensure school trousers are navy and non-flared. Hair accessories, if worn, must be black or navy ties or clips; bands, bows and ribbons are not permitted. In line with the academy uniform policy, students must also wear full school uniform when travelling to and from school.
End of day
We rely on parents’ support in ensuring students go straight home at the end of the day. This is to keep students safe and avoid incidents in the local area. The academy behaviour policy applies whenever students are wearing their uniform. If students are seen without a parent in uniform in the local community 20 minutes after their dismissal time, they will be given a lunchtime reflection the following day. If students are waiting for friends or family members to travel home they must wait in the library where they can complete homework/revision and must not wait in the local area.
Year 8 HPV vaccine
At Ark Soane, we will be offering the vaccine to everyone in Year 8 on Wednesday 21st May 2025
What is HPV and how is it linked to cancer?
HPV stands for Human Papilloma Virus. Some strains significantly increase the risk of cancer.
75% of teenagers are vaccinated. We strongly encourage everybody to take the vaccines offered to keep them safe now and later in life.
Please either consent or decline your child receiving the vaccine using this link.
