We're proud to offer a range of performing arts activities including:
- instrument lessons for all pupils
- enrichment clubs including dance and choir
- opportunities to perform in the community at events such as festivals and celebrations
- whole school concerts and performances
We also benefit from being part of the Ark Schools Network and their excellent network-wide music programme. Designed to foster a life-long love of music, the Ark Music Programme offers a wealth of experience for all pupils at all levels, including an annual Music Gala where pupils have the opportunity to perform at a national level.
Instrumental lessons
We provide details of how to register for instrumental lessons in September. Students can apply to have one-to-one, paired or group lessons. There is help towards the cost of group lessons for pupils who receive free school meals. Lesson times rotate to avoid students repeatedly missing the same classes.
Oliver! Jr – July 2023
Our first ever school production will be Oliver! Jr, taking place in early July. Featuring classic songs like ‘I’d Do Anything’ and ‘Consider Yourself’, this 1 hour version of Lionel Bart’s musical tells the story of Charles Dickens’ ‘Oliver Twist’. The original novel is studied by all students in Year 7, and we are excited to bring this to the stage! The cast and crew are hard at work on the show, with previews of songs performed at Exhibition Evening in Autumn and Spring. Performance dates will be announced soon; we look forward to seeing you there.
