PE at Gunnersbury:

On Wednesdays Y7 students and Thursdays Y8 should arrive directly to Gunnersbury Sports Hub by 8:05am.  This is around a 15 minute walk from AA6.

Students should arrive to PE in their PE kit (trainers, branded PE top, navy shorts or tracksuit bottoms) and should bring their full school uniform packed in their Soane PE bag.  Please assist [student name] in ensuring that [he/she] doesn’t forget any items of [his/her] school uniform.

Lost property:

Please ensure that all items of uniform and equipment are labelled in indelible ink or with nametags.  Any items of lost property will be returned to the reception at Ark Soane where they can be collected by students at lunchtime.

Coats:

Please ensure that [student name] always brings a navy/black raincoat or umbrella to school as we will always need to move between sites – rain or shine!

Clubs:

I will be in touch with you in the next few days regarding arrangements for enrichment and after school clubs.  Starting from Monday we will open the library after school each day for one hour.  Students will be escorted to Ark Soane at the end of the school day and will be able to remain on site until 4.40 (Monday-Thursday) and 3.40 on Friday.

Reflections:

We aim to ensure that the atmosphere at Soane is always calm, purposeful and orderly.  After school reflections are essential to us maintaining the high standards of discipline which enable students to thrive.  Reflections serve as a reminder to our students of the high expectations that we have of their focus, their organisation, their behaviour and their punctuality.  We typically award one hundred times more merits than reflections.

Parents are able to see all behaviour events in real time through their MCAS app – and will receive notification either through the app or through SMS – 30 minutes before the end of the school day if their child has a reflection.

We expect, and appreciate, parental support with our behaviour system.

Ark Soane Mourns The Queen:

We were very sad to join the rest of the nation in mourning the death of the Queen.  Students shared their thoughts on what Queen Elizabeth meant to them and celebrated her charitable work, her service to her country and her role in championing diversity.  School will operate as normal this week but is expected to be closed to mark the State Funeral next Monday (19th September).

School office:

If you require assistance, in person, from a member of Soane staff please attend the office at Ark Soane between 9am and 5pm.  Alternatively email us at info@arksoane.org
