Why work with us

Be part of our growing team at Ark Soane

Ark Soane opened to 180 Year 7 students in September 2021. We will grow by 180 students each year until we reach our capacity of 1200 in 2027.

Joining our team now will give you a unique opportunity to grow with the school with extensive opportunities for development, progression and influence as the school expands.

Why work for Soane

Ark Soane Academy seeks to redefine what is possible in education: our model is “simplicity delivered expertly”.

Behaviour at Soane is exemplary enabling you to deliver exceptional lessons: staff who join Soane will be supported to embed the expectations and routines to teach in a calm, purposeful, orderly environment where they are able to demonstrate their passion for their discipline and for raising students’ attainment. We have strong and centralised rewards and sanctions systems ensuring all our teachers are supported to maintain the highest standards of discipline in their classrooms.

The curriculum at Soane ensures that teachers rarely plan alone: in most subjects we subscribe to Ark Common Curriculum resources meaning that staff time is used where it is most valuable: working as a team to implement the curriculum for the students in our classrooms. Lessons are predominantly taught with co-planned booklets ensuring resources are simple, reused and refined and avoiding hurried planning and PowerPoint preparation.

We are a community of professionals learning together who believe we can all become exemplary teachers: we have a truly open-door policy where we expect to give and receive feedback frequently and with kindness.

We model kindness, politeness and gratitude in how we interact with each other and we model it with our students. Soane students are a pleasure to teach and you can always expect a “thank you” as they leave the classroom.

We promote a healthy work-life balance and we protect our teachers from extraneous demands on their time. We value the input of all of our staff and collaborate and consult to ensure the academy continues to improve as it expands.

If you are interested in a future role at Ark Soane please do come and see us in action. For more information please contact my Executive Assistant, Mugdha Malve, at mailto:m.malve@arksoane.org.
